This afternoon I had a small presentation on my ideas and some suggestions were made which I will take into account. Because my target audience is for 10-16 year olds the box needs to be exciting and have some level of interactivity to it so I will take these comments away and include them into my design as at the minute my designs are quite focused around the Animal logo.

Our task for today was to work within a group to get together a target audience and ideas for a for a watch box design for Animal. The group together put a good presentation on and it was good to get a lot of research done so quickly to give a clear path to head down for designing the box. Overall our presentation went well and I felt I had quite a bit to work with.

Today we were given a guest lecture and more details were given regarding the second part of the unit. We were told about the process of getting jobs and how to show potential employers your work. I also learnt a bit about greeting cards and how a business that the guest speaker Claire worked for ... worked. it was really interesting to find out little things about greeting cards and so it spurred me on to research card designs, colours and textures and to get a feel of the project and to look forward to working on it.

This morning I worked on final touches to my poster and took advice from a peer to try my poster with a different strap line. I also relocated elements in my poster such as the recycle symbol and made some other small adjustments. I wanted to see what it would look like with both strap lines, but I think for the presentation I should have chosen my original poster to present.
Comments made in the crit were as follows:
- The graphics could be made a bit bigger.
- A 3rd element could be added to explain a bit about the poster in general.
- Proposed strap line: "don't drown in waste" or change back to the original line.
I will take these into account and make these adjustments to improve my poster so that it connects with the audience.

Today I focused on developing my idea and decided to develop it based on my research. I wanted to take an illustrative route and worked around the line 'don't let your money go to waste'. I took stock images and edited them and also used Stencil for my font and used a spray tool to edit it in photoshop to make it more like spray painted text. Eventually I was aiming for a spray painted look in my work.

When i first started working on ideas for this task, I originally wanted to illustrate the poster, however being more into graphic design, I may take stock images and manipulate them to give the effect I want and also use type within a line that will tie in with my image that will make you think again once you look at it.

Year2
In today's session we were introduced to our new unit titled Visual Communication in Context 2. I mainly focused on the first task (the unit is made up of 4 tasks) which was to create an A3 poster on either a social issue or an object of sentimental value and to convince the audience to "Look again. Think again." Once we were briefed, I looked for inspiration from other designers that focused their work on social issues and decided to focus on the social issue of recycling.
